PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A federal judge has given fashion jewelry maker Alex and Ani the go-ahead to sue BJ's Wholesale Club and others over $1 million worth of charm bracelets it says it was tricked into selling at discount prices.

U.S. District Judge William Smith on Friday declined to dismiss several claims the Cranston-based jewelry maker brought against Natick, Massachusetts-based BJ's, as well as companies and people who arranged to buy tens of thousands of bangle bracelets from Alex and Ani.

Alex and Ani says it was told the bracelets would be put into VIP goodie bags at a horse competition in Florida, and at the Austin Film Festival. Instead, it found them for sale at BJ's stores in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

BJ's has argued it bought the bracelets in good faith.
