PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Thirteen people were left homeless after the second fire this month at their Providence apartment building.
The three-alarm blaze on Bancroft Street in the Silver Lake neighborhood began around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials say no one was injured.
Officials say the blaze started in the same third-floor apartment where an electrical fire caused minor damage July 1. Firefighters say they believe Tuesday's fire started in a kitchen light fixture, but the cause is under investigation. The other apartments in the building have smoke and water damage.
Dwayne Thibodeau and Ashley Flynn live with their newborn son in the apartment where the fire started. They say the smaller fire on July 1 was caused by a problem with a kitchen lamp and an electrician was called in to fix it.
