NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (AP) — A nurse at Narragansett High School has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with heroin possession three weeks ago.
School officials say 52-year-old Lynn Magnusen is on paid leave pending the criminal case and a substitute nurse has been hired for the rest of the school year.
Magnusen was arrested in Charlestown on March 14 after police say she was found unconscious inside her car in a liquor store parking lot. Authorities say she was in possession of a half gram of heroin, a syringe containing suspected heroin and a glass pipe similar to those used to smoke crack cocaine.
Magnusen was released on personal recognizance. No one answered phone listings for her Tuesday. It's not clear if she has a lawyer.
