EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (AP) — Ten people were taken to hospitals after a car carrying an infant collided with a van carrying the residents of a group home.

Rhode Island State Police say none of the injuries are serious following the crash, which happened around 10:30 a.m. Thursday on Route 4 in East Greenwich.

Police say eight people were in the van, including six residents of a group home and two staff members, when it was sideswiped by the car. It then spun 180 degrees and came to a stop facing the wrong direction.

Police say everyone was wearing their seatbelts.

People were taken to Kent Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital.
