The little city of Sturgis, South Dakota, normally populated by about 6000 people, is about to be invade again by thousands upon thousands of bikers! And the locals welcome them with open arms, because the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally normally brings in about $800 million in revenue every year! This is the 73rd anniversary of the event and it runs August 5th through the 11th! Some people ride their bikes there…others are coming from so far away they have their motorcycles shipped there! One of these years Donna and I will have to make the ride!
There’s a fun ride this weekend for a great cause! The 4th Annual US Veterans Motorcycle Run, Saturday August 3rd. Starts at the Veteran’s Clubhouse, 29 Armento St. in Johnston. Registration begins at 9am, ride starts at 10:45am. All proceeds go to help veterans and veteran organizations.
